The SheepSaver Project
The story of Shetland 2000
In 1997 a journey began. It was, “…a journey to further and strengthen the value of coloured fleece” (link to blog). This journey began as a partnership between Jamieson & Smith and a company (now closed), based in Maryland, called Yarns International.
From this partnership came a line of yarn, Shetland 2000 (now known as Shetland Supreme). Betty Lindsay, one of the owners of Yarns International was referred to by Oliver Henry as the Sheep Saver. This project sets out to tell the story and explore some of the patterns developed. You can read more on my blog. The project reference list can be found here.
